Kooloo-limpah! Tingle RPG (Japan) for the Nintendo DS will be coming out on the 2nd of September this year. For those Zelda gamers who love Tingle and maybe if you don’t hate him, you can check out the commercial here. Noticed the black color DS Lite they are showing off in the commercial?

Another Final Fantasy III trailer , the most anticipated RPG for the Nintendo DS. Absolutely beautiful, it almost made me cry. It seems that there are quite a few CGI cutscenes in this game, can a DS cart able to fit everything in? We’ll see.

It’s weird, it’s wacky, it’s ugly, it’s TIIIINNGLE!! Nintendo.jp has opened the official website for Tingle RPG (Nintendo DS). Once you enter the site, you’ll see Tingle standing in a room just like in the picture above. You’ll be given 100 rupees to start with. There are several things that you can click on, like err, the computer, the banner, the comic book, and the dog? Well, there’s not much point to play this unless you read Japanese. Anyway, it’s worth to have a look though. I wonder if this game will make it to the US, since there are some many Tingle haters out there. I will probably get it based on the fact that Tingle is a character from Zelda. Hehe…

The Japanese Title for this game is Mogitate Tingle no Barairo Rupee Land (literally translated as Tingle’s Freshly-Picked Rose-Colored Rupee Land) is a Nintendo DS RPG video game starring Tingle, a character from various games in The Legend of Zelda series from Nintendo.

It is currently planned to be released in 2006 in Japan. There is currently no release date outside of Japan.

The game starts from the time when he was just an average middle-aged man. While living out the dull days of the main character’s life, he receives a devine message stating to visit “The Spring”. In doing so and visiting the spring, he is confronted by a person who names himself Rupee-ji (Old Man Rupee). The main character learns that if he saves rupees (money) and throws them into the spring, he will be taken to the dream paradise of “Rupee Land”. After agreeing to the task, he changes into “Tingle” through Magic. Where Rupees are everything, and if you run out, you must shoulder the fate of also running out of life.

Among the characters you will meet, there are: Rupeeji (Old Man Rupee), the purple blond-haired fairy Pingle, who resides in a monitor in Tingle’s house. - Wikipedia.org

Battle mode (multiplayer)

The multiplayer mode in ‘’The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass’’ 1-on-1 game best described as ‘Pacman meets Capture the Flag’. In an open maze, one player takes on the role of Link, while the other player controls three Darknuts. Link’s goal is to grab a Force Gem from one of the center bases and carry it to one of his own areas at the side of the maze. The other player, controlling the three Darknuts, must try to catch Link before he scores any points. When Link is caught, players switch sides.

Control basics
Link is controlled with either the touch-screen or the D-pad and buttons. Link’s normal pace is slightly faster then that of the Darknuts. When carrying a Force Gem however, Link is much slower. The bigger the Force Gem, the slower he moves.

The Darknuts are controlled by plotting their path on the touch-screen. This path can be changed at any moment and all three Darknuts can be moved simultaneously.

3 times each turn, the ‘stalker’ can touch the “Link search” icon to view Link’s location on the top screen’s map is for a brief period of time. Additionally, the location of your opponent can show up sometimes at random.

Rules
A game consists of 3 rounds, of 2 turns.
Each round, each player plays one turn as Link and one turn as the Stalker (in control of the Darknuts).
Each turn ends when Link has been caught, or when 120 seconds have past.
If player 2 is leading after the final turn of player 1, the game is over because player 2 has then already won.
The Darknuts can not enter the blue/white areas where the Force Gems are.
When Link is caught while carrying a Force Gem, he drops it and it remains at that spot.
Scoring system (open to further specification)
- Big Force Gem >>> 15 points
- Normal Force Gem >>> 5 points
- Small Force Gem >>> 1 points
