Okay, this is not a joke, this is real. It’s not an official game, it’s a homebrew game based on the original NES Legend of Zelda but with ‘The Four Swords & The Minish Cap’ graphics. And yes, you can download the demo and try it on your mobile. There’s also an emulated version that you can play using your PC. It’s still very much in the making and there are plenty of room for improvement.

My two cents : It would be great if they can improve on the speed, Link is a bit slow. Definately have to do something about the sound effects and there’s one thing keeps me wondering , what happened to the Laser Beam from the sword? Overall, I think it’s a great piece of work. Well done, I can’t wait for the final version to be out. It may be one of the greatest remake of the first Zelda game ever.

Stepmania with The Legend of Zelda theme song? Weird…

A brilliant artwork, “The Hero’s Lineage” by Aremke of DeviantArt. According to the author, this is like a wakeup call to most Zelda fans. Are you guys aware that the Link and Zelda from each consecutive game aren’t necessarily the same people? The Wind Waker made this blatantly obvious, but people seem to be completely oblivious to this regarding the other games.

This is what he quoted, “The setting here is in the final days of the legend. I did the sky orange to try to keep true to the atmosphere depicted in the game artwork, which was always very dark. Basically, by now, Hyrule’s become desolate and overrun with monsters from centuries of Ganon’s repeated attacks, not to mention whatever natural disasters occurred aside from flooding. This Link is the last of a legacy- the last knight of Hyrule.

Happy Valentine’s Day everyone! Okay, maybe I’m a little bit late, sorry about that. Just found out that X-Entertainment did a feature on some old Valentines Day Cards which include Mario, Zelda, the California Raisins and Ninja Turtles. So cute and sweet, bring back a lot of memories. Anyone out there who wants to send me a Valentine’s Day card? Please send me the Zelda ones. lol!

I believe many have already seen this. Here is a short documentary of Shigeru Miyamoto’s work, showing how he got the inspiration in creating The Legend of Zelda. Who would have ever thought that the Junkman in a 1981’s Donkey Kong arcade game turned out to be the world famous Super Mario! And guess what? Miyamoto actually composed the tracks (he plays the guitar) for some of the earlier games. He’s a genius!!

Happy Birthday, Link! What do you know, ‘The Legend of Zelda’ has turned 20! And Nintendo is releasing some nice goodies for this special occasion. The one shown above is the The Legend of Zelda 1 Dot Matrix set. Unfortunately, they are only available in Japan. If you are lucky, maybe you can grab yourself a set at ebay.
