I’m playing Resident Evil 4

Sorry for not making more posts these few days. I just got myself a copy of Resident Evil 4 for the GameCube and I got so hooked up on it. Never too late to play the best game of 2005 I guess. I’ve always like the Resident Evil Series especially RE 1 and RE 2 (my favorite) , but later felt a little bit disappointed with RE3 and Code Veronica. And because of this, I didn’t plan to buy RE4 at first, but after hearing all the good comments by almost everyone who played the game, I’ve changed my mind.
During the start of the game, when I saw Leon took out his cellphone and talk to Hannigan, I really burst out laughing. I thought ‘what is this man? Metal Gear Solid? or is it just a joke?’ . So my first impression of this game wasn’t really good, especially the ‘almost first-person’ view (behind back camera) caused me some 3D motion sickness at the beginning. I felt this game is more like a combination of ‘Counter Strike/Half Life’ + ‘Metal Gear Solid’ + ‘House of the Dead’, and it’s not Resident Evil anymore. But the more I play the game, the more I realise I was wrong. This game rocks! RE4 has created a different style to the series and I believe a lot of upcoming action games will try to imitate this because of its success. However, because I haven’t completed it just yet, I would not give my final judge so quickly. So I hope I will enjoy this game as much as you all did! Okay, got to go kill some, I mean tons of crazy villagers, wish me luck!

Watch out for Dr. Salvadore man… you’ll know who that is later in the castle, when you encounter multiple ones at once!!! (*fires up chainsaw*)

Thanks for the tip man, Dr.Salvadore… you mean the crazy chainsaw guy? Yeah, they are very nasty. I’ve reached chapter 5-3 now actually, just finished watching the cool close combat scene between Krausser & Leon. Longest RE4 ever.. very challenging…
