The Real Master Sword

No joke! This is a real sword! A real life replica of the Legendary Master Sword! A Scottish blacksmith has built a detailed replica of the elf-like fantasy gardener’s monstrous Tri-Force weapon, for an equally loony chap willing to stump up £1,800 and wait ten months for him to make it.

Paul Hantschel, one of PlanetGamecube.com forum users, owns a real-life replica of the famous Master Sword from the Legend of Zelda series, they contacted Paul and asked for some details on his little artifact.

Mr. Hantschel emailed blacksmith Rob Miller of Castle Keep, located in Scotland, with the initial concept and original artwork. Around a week later, Rob responded and requested detailed dimensions for every aspect of Link’s Master Sword. After a ten-month wait period and a £1,800 transaction (around $3,300), Rob began work on the sword of legends.

The blacksmith provided updates of his progress during the one-and-a-half-month forging process. With them he included photographs of the sword, which Paul has graciously shared with PGC :-

To be honest: I don’t like the Master Sword or the swords in general from Zelda. I think they’re all a bit clumsy… And the blue Master Sword from OoT looks like a toy. I wish for more beautiful swords as seen in Lord of the Rings.

It seems pretty inacurate, and the handle looks like plastic. They could have done much better… I still want it, I just want a better one more. lol

to the comment about making fun of zelda fans: honestly i bet that most people who go to this site and post stuff aren’t fags living with their parents. but yeah, i don’t like the “extreme” zelda nerds. oh yeah, cool sword
